Leader Associates and NSW Government Announce Three-Year Partnership to Host SAF APAC Summit in Sydney (2027–2029)

Leader Associates is proud to announce a landmark three-year partnership with the NSW Government, Business Events Sydney (BESydney) and ICC Sydney to host the SAF APAC Summit in Sydney from 2027 to 2029, establishing the city as the long-term home of Asia-Pacific's leading sustainable aviation fuel event.

Following several successful editions, the SAF APAC Summit will relocate to Sydney under the new agreement, reflecting the city's growing leadership in sustainable aviation, clean energy and international business events. The partnership will provide a stable platform to accelerate the development of the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) market across the Asia-Pacific region while strengthening collaboration between governments, airlines, fuel producers, airports, investors and technology providers worldwide.

The first Sydney edition will take place on 13–14 July 2027 at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), welcoming more than 3,000 participants from across the global aviation and energy value chains. The event is expected to continue expanding over the coming years while generating an estimated AUD 2.3 million in direct economic impact annually for New South Wales.

To mark the beginning of the partnership, representatives from the NSW Government, Leader Associates, Business Events Sydney (BESydney) and ICC Sydney gathered at ICC Sydney to officially sign the three-year hosting agreement.

The Hon. Penny Sharpe MLC, NSW Minister for Climate Change, the Environment, Energy and Heritage, said:

"The Minns Labor Government is building a strong renewable fuels industry in NSW as part of our transition to net zero, with sustainable aviation fuels playing a critical role in that future.

Through our landmark Renewable Fuel Strategy, we're backing the investment and innovation needed to accelerate local production, drive down emissions, create local jobs and strengthen fuel security.

We look forward to welcoming delegates across the region to Sydney, driving practical outcomes and partnerships that will help deliver a more sustainable aviation future."

Eddie Lee, Managing Director of Leader Associates, said:

"This long-term partnership with the NSW Government represents a major milestone for the development of the sustainable aviation fuel industry across Asia-Pacific. Together, we are creating the region's leading platform for advancing the SAF economy, bringing together governments, airlines, airports, fuel producers, investors and technology innovators from around the world.

Every year, the SAF APAC Summit will provide a global marketplace for strategic dialogue, investment, commercial partnerships and cross-border collaboration, helping accelerate SAF deployment while strengthening energy security and aviation decarbonisation throughout the region."

Alongside the SAF APAC Summit, Leader Associates will also launch the Future Grid & AI Data Centres (FGDC) APAC Summit in Sydney from 2027. Held alongside the SAF APAC Summit at ICC Sydney, the new event will explore the convergence of digital infrastructure and energy systems, bringing together global leaders to address the rapidly growing demand for resilient power infrastructure in the AI era.

Kristian Nicholls, Chief Client Officer of Business Events Sydney, said:

"We are proud to have secured three consecutive years of the SAF APAC Summit for Sydney. This event is a powerful endorsement of Sydney's standing as a hub for sustainable innovation.

We are pleased to support an event that aligns closely with the NSW Government's renewable fuel initiatives, including the Australia–Asia SAF Alliance, the Renewable Fuel Strategy, the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Prospectus, and the e-SAF Value Chain in NSW report."

Adam Mather-Brown, Chief Executive Officer of ICC Sydney, added:

"ICC Sydney is committed to creating long-term impact through business events by connecting clients with Sydney's innovation and sustainability ecosystem. We look forward to working with Leader Associates and BESydney to deliver the SAF APAC Summit over the next three years and support meaningful collaboration that advances the future of sustainable aviation."

As countries accelerate the transition towards cleaner aviation, greater energy security and more resilient fuel supply chains, sustainable aviation fuel has become one of the world's fastest-growing strategic industries. With Asia-Pacific expected to be the fastest-growing aviation market globally, the region is uniquely positioned to drive the next phase of SAF production, investment and international cooperation.

Through this long-term partnership, Leader Associates will continue to build the SAF APAC Summit as the region's premier international platform for policy dialogue, market development, technology innovation and commercial partnerships, connecting Asia-Pacific with the global sustainable aviation fuel market.
